Wiring second Ac in a CC 36ckts.

Hi all ,
Just purchased a 2nd bedroom ac , Dometic Penquin II #641815 and they shipped me a #651815 which is a heat pump model also and comes with the control board pre-installed ,and said merry Christmas , our mistake , enjoy it . I also ordered the the return grill kit .047
This is to be used with the factory wired CCC2 thermostat which I have to reprogram and set up for the second air , zone 2 .

Anyone been thru this and have a simplified wiring diagram ,
Unit Install is strait forward but has anyone been thru the wiring .
120v - strait forward .
RJ-45 communication -strait forward
12v-2conductor cable , strait foward
6- conductor cable ?

Thanks Rich ,

  • Thank you all for your time, and your replies have been most helpful. I would rather not learn from my mistakes on this one.

    Thanks,

  • Hi ,
bed room was prepped for 2nd ac.Power, phone line,2-wire dc connector. That all looks plug and play and matches up to the new ac. The dip switches are set in the new ac, zone-2 set , heat pump set.

Here is my issue , there is a 6 conductor cable wired to the control board,
    2-yellows for load shed , 2-blues for furnace, 1-red and 1-black for + and - 12volt.
Are these needed or should they be capped off , "not for my application" or they should be connected and how .
I've searched Google University for hours , and all the documentation I could find from Dometic with no clarity .
Any help would be appreciated .
Then comes the CCC2 power down and reset to recognize the 2nd unit.
  • If it is pre-wired then not too difficult to do. Should be a junction box at the roof vent and probably loose RJ wire connected to the CCC2 thermostat. You should also have a remote temp sensor on a wall in the bedroom for the 2nd AC. No controls on the grill, the CCC2 controls both units. I installed a non-ducted unit due to undersized ducting for 2 units.

Send Doug Rainer a PM for the best info. Unless the second unit was pre wired with 120V power I would run a separate line that you can plug into the 15A outlet on the power pedestal or into a outlet you add where the power cord comes into the camper... even if you only have a 50A power cord. This will give you more power when only on a 30A pedestal that also has a 15A outlet.
  • The CCC 2 uses standard rj11 cable and connectors, but wired for data (flipped ends).

All programming is done on the board in the new unit, setting it to zone 2 heat pump, then reinitialize the CCC 2.
