Go to www.ehealthinsurance.com, look at the temporary 6 month policies. We have been using those for years. Choose a high deductible and the policies are very reasonable. They usually pay for 3 Dr visits during the 6 months but usually do not cover annual physicals, bloodwork, mammograms, etc. I always ask for a cash discount for the mammogram and found that you can get one for $65, my Dr has an agreement with a lab for yearly bloodwork for around $80. You have to have coverage for an emergency illness or accident. There may be a community health clinic in your area, their office visit costs are on a sliding scale. Look for dental schools for cheap dental care.
