Proof of Home Address Issue

There are some situations when proof of a permanent address requires a copy of a utility bill with our name on it (i.e. opening an IRA account). How does one get around this issue.
  • I have sent in the copy of the statement of my mail forwarding service address that shows my name and PMB number
  • I use TX for my home address (Escapees) but I use OR (a random campground) as my cell phone billing address. That saved me about 25% in taxes compared to FL where I had been at the time. Look at your cell phone bill and see what the taxes are. Compare that to OR and you will change your service address as well!
  • Shouldn't be necessary under law but sometimes places have stupid rules which require you to give them a 'stupid' answer. I had a lease form on my computer and when I was required once to provide the kind of proof you need, I just completed the lease with appropriate rental terms, a made up landlord and dated sometime in the prior months, printed it, signed the made up landlord's name, folded it several ways, spilled and then wiped off a bit of condiment off one corner and let the inquirer photo copy it. No problems
  • When we FTd we came across that situation twice......

Our cell phone 'billing address' (our mail forwarding address) was what we used as proof of our 'home address'
It was our ONLY Utility Bill per se as 'electric'water'sewer' were included in the price of FHU Sites at various CGs

    Both times it was accepted.
We also submitted copies of DL, Vehicle Registration, Voters Card and our CCWs
    ALL showed SAME 'home address'
  • Many places will accept a cell phone bill as proof of address.
