We have been paying for health care out of pocket for almost 20 years.
The ACA is already bringing down our plan cost. We have received rebates the last two years as insurers have the rebate unspent collections over a certain amount collected.
We are 60 and pay about $1200/mo with $5000 each deductible.
From what I can glean from research is that ACA will probably drop my rates some by will drop deductibles a lot.
You won't really know until you start shopping in Oct.
And for those fearing the changeover, relax. You can keep your old plan if you like.
As far as subsidies, everyone pays for costs of health care for the uninsured anyway,
in higher premiums and medical costs.
