$10 certificate for membership renewal

I renewed my camping world membership early in order to receive a $10 coupon good for use at Camping World.
I used the coupon at Camping World in Louisville TN to apply toward the purchase of an Oxygenics shower kit.
After getting it home, I see the design requires installing a wall mount wand holder. I wanted a shower wand that attaches to the existing fixture.
I returned the shower kit and expected to receive a refund of the money paid, and allowing me to apply the $10 coupon to something else in the store. I’d planned on making another purchase at the store.
The clerk was able to refund the cash I’d paid, but could not offer me a $10 coupon for use towards another purchase in the store.
It’s not like a manufactures coupon for $1 off Tide. When I returned the Tide to the store, I would not expect another coupon. This was a coupon for use on anything in the store. I’d planned on immediately purchasing something in the store and using $10 credit towards that purchase.
I spoke to the manager, and he reiterated that I would not be able to use the $10 credit.
I explained that I drove over 60 miles round trip to get to the store. His response was that people come from all over to go to the store.
Not that he cares, but I will never return to this Camping World, so he’s got one less customer coming “from all over.”
I’d like to have a $10 coupon issued to me. What do I need to do for this to happen?

    I got my renewal notice and a CW $20 certificate if I renew.
  • renewed in Jun/July...no coupon. I feel hard done by.......

  • Bad manager. What he should have done is offer you $10 off on something else in the store. It's cheap to keep a customer and very hard to get a new one.
  • We renewed in Jun/Jul. Now the good sam bag sale does not apply to us. Lifetime members, new members but not us. I am not going to renew again in one year. Doesn't seem fair to exclude one set of member????
  • This weekend is the bag sale for new members. So if I go the CW with my earlier renewal will I be able to also get the discount???
  • I just spoke with Sabrina at 800-234-3450. She is sending out a new $10 certificate.
    I do know one camping world store in Louisville TN where neither the coupon nor any of my money will will be spent.

  • Yeh,,, I renewed in Roanoak VA this last summer, prommised an 10 giftcard to be mailed to me ,plus 3 months of RV magazine. BUt I did get a bucket of soap to wash the trailer. See if I renew again.
  • You all should feel good about getting coupons, as Life Members, we never receive a coupon. We just have to look for the best deals.
