Additional charges

"Trip Points" is a new term to me. Define.

C2C trip points are for basic site which is all C2C has control over.
Each campground is an independent business and therefore can charge/up charge as they wish.

When checking out C2C affiliate CGs 'additional' costs are noted.

Paying $10/15 night for basic camp site is hard to beat.

Pretty inexpensive.....even with extra charges.
Especially when you consider that you couldn't even stay at majority of the CGs without high priced membership.

I don't know what "trip points" are either.

But I do know that there is a huge rising trend in American business to advertise and quote an unrealistically low price for something, that then calls for large numbers of add-ons with abundant surcharges for this and that, all of which are inescapable, and all of which are essential to the worthiness of the original purchase item.

It's like buying a car and discovering that wheels are extra. So is an engine. And if you want a steering wheel . . . .

Trip points are a 'payment system' used by Coast To Coast (C2C) for private campground site use.

As a C2C member you make a reservation at a private campground......campground charges you 1000--1500 trip points per night for basic site.

As a C2C member you purchase trip points to be used for private campground nightly fees.
$10 equals 1000 trip points

If you purchase larger quantities you can get some bonus trip points.

The private CGs allow affiliate memberships to use their CGs.
Affiliates are C2C, AOR, RPI, ROD etc. that can be joined AFTER having a membership in a 'home park' (private CG).

We purchased a 'home park' with C2C affiliation for $950 total.
Then paid yrly dues to maintain home park and C2C memberships.

Used home park and C2C during our 7 yrs of FT travel. Made nightly site fees very reasonable. Just ONE of the ways to control/lower living expenses.

He is specifically addressing Coast to Coast Resorts.

We had one resort on a trip that added $2.00 per night for elect. Ok not bad, but they added $4.00 per night per dog! (3 dogs) Total per night $10.00 trip points, $12.00 dog charge, and $2.00 elect. Just a little too steep for a return visit. I wish that we knew that when the reservation was made.

That info is available.
When you select a state from 'resort directory' and then click on a particular park it will display that parks info......full list form it's ID number all the way down to whether mail is accepted or not.

One just needs to look.

If you don't know about/understand "trip points' either you have not used c2c cg in the last 4-5 years OR you are not a member of c2c!!

I really don't understand the good & bad about c2c

I have a 40 foot motorhome - will most of the campgrounds be able to fit this

Where is the best place to buy a membership ( cost ) - different type memberships

We full time 7 months & stay stationary 5 months
