That's assuming the OP is towing a car behind an RV. From the post I don't think that's the case.

So unless the op was towing a car behind his pickup he couldn't just drive the disabled "dinghy" away.
Flat tire, breakdown, unable to tow because of broken part, disabled on side of the road = tow
