Sounds like you got what was to be expected. Call a local dealer for the BRAND of hitch and you'll be more apt to find assistance. Many brands like Reece have a lifetime guarantee on their equipment and I've actually had them air freight parts to me in care of local RV dealer. Good luck / Skip
