coverage??

Marcus, we just purchased a used 2008 Fleetwood Providence from the original owner. We are looking at all the different choices for an extended service plan. Can you tell me how quickly coverage with Good Sam's ESP takes effect after you puchase it?.....meaning, how quickly does coverage take effect? Thanks so much!

  • I have had the Good Sam extended Service Plan for a year and just renewed a couple of weeks ago. I believe it's the Gold Plan. I have the coverage on my 2009 Kia Sorento SUV. Had no reason to use it until last week. My mechanic, not a Good Sam certified shop, identified the reason my transmission was going into "Limp Mode". Electronic Solenoid A was not working correctly. The recommended repair is replacement of the Valve Body which includes all of the solenoids.Due to the cost of the valve body, $2,400, Good Sam would only approve the single solenoid replacement which with labor came to $795. Apparently the replacement did the job, at least so far. So, I am pleased.
  • You may want to look at EasyCare. We've used them 4 times and are very satisfied with the response and the time to repair. You can take it to any repair facility but they require that the failed component be verified by one of their inspectors and that the repair facility contact them before repair work is started.. This requires a wait of no more than 24 hrs before actual repair can begin.
  • We have two levels of coverage. Our "Silver" level is Inclusionary, which means that we list what IS covered. Our best level is "Gold" which is Exclusionary meaning we list what is NOT covered in each component group. All other parts not listed for that component are covered.

The consequential damages rider is only available when you buy Good Sam ESP at Camping World at the time you purchase your RV.
  • Scott, is Good Sam an Exclusionary Policy with a consequential damages rider?
  • Thanks so much! We are still fairly new to the RV life and definitely feel more comfortable having an ESP. We want to make sure we have one before we take it on a big trip or before anything unforeseen happens.
  • Read your contract VERY CAREFULLY to see what's covered. i'm sure it's a lot shorter than the parts that NOT covered
  • Good Sam Extended Service Plan coverage takes effect immediately upon the receipt of the first premium payment. There is no waiting period. You are covered for any failures that occur after this time for as long as the policy remains in force. However, as with all insurance policies, we do not cover any pre-existing conditions, meaning no claims will be paid for failures that occurred prior to the effective date of the policy.
