After driving to THOUSANDS of EMS calls after a dash-cam system was installed in our entire fleet, you'd be surprised how much more cautious you drive when you know your job could be on the line.
I would rather HAVE a camera and face MY responsibilities rather than NOT have one and get blamed for something I DIDN'T do.
AND, I'm pretty sure that not only will my insurance carrier like the idea, but the local LEO's might appreciate it too. *(The system I was familiar with allowed the operator to activate the system MANUALLY to record OTHER drivers and incidents.
