Insurance Discount???
I thought, because my question has to do with insurance, I would ask here, and then let the conversation lead where it may.
Does anyone know of, or aware of the possibility of, an insurance carrier that is offering discounts to insured who have a recordable dash cam system in place?
I know when I was employed with a national ambulance service, there was a definitive advantage to having them installed in every vehicle; sometimes to rid themselves of bad drivers, but mostly to help better defend instances where ambulances, driving "emergent", with lights on and sirens sounding, were involved in collisions. Often, the video footage would show that the other driver was, indeed, at fault.
With the prevalence of "Distracted Driving" on nearly ALL ROADS, I would hope that SOME carrier would see the benefit of not only suggesting that their insured install such systems, but that they would "incentivize" such expense by offering a deduction in rate.
