Don't know much about coast to coast

I know that thru our ownership at a local resort we have access to cost to coast, what is it and how does it work?
  • Good advise.. It seem with like the deluxe package you are limited to resorts outside of a 125 mile area from your "home resort", not so with the premier package or less miles, if i understand the rules correctly.

So i guess you need to determine where you want to travel and find a home resort that is not in the area for best usage practice?

We are planning to go full time in 4ish years and currently live in Raleigh NC area. We are also a WBCCI, Wally Byrum Airstream Club, as it is now called and our local unit does something every month for a long weekend. We try to attend some but last year only made one event.

I dont see the need to spend a lot of time at the home resort, just a place to call home more or less.

You are already a member in a park so you know how much that cost you. Memberships are pricey so some people out there will say the caution thing but that is already a done deal so all you are asking for is info on how to use it and how useful it is.

It took a little while for us to understand how things worked too and start fully using our membership. We stayed fairly close to home at first so it didn't come into play for us until we started traveling farther from home. Go to the C2C web site and look at all the places you can go in each state for ideas. Also, maybe someone at your home resort can help you get familiar with the reservation system and using the web site for buying trip points and reserving at another park.

We use both C2C and Passport America today in our travels and it works great for us. You just have to take note of any restrictions there are at the parks you wish to go to. I like our C2C membership and intend to keep it active as long as we have a trailer. It comes down to your travel habits and the places you go to make it effective. Old Biscuit summed it up very well.

There are people looking to get out of their membership so buy on the secondary market... same with time shares. You need to be FT or have a location that you like to go to often to make it pay.
On every trip I more than pay for my http://www.passportamerica.com/ $50 membership.
  • Old-Biscuit, good info. I just stated a post and then realized I needed to load older posts to see more about this. So far your post is very helpful.

    Thanks again,
    Robert
  • I was looking at a C2C deluxe resale with RPI and that is good to know. how about a passport america or escapee deal?

Be very careful in buying resale.
Check the campground contract and see if they allow
a resale. Check how much it will cost for transfer fees.

    Everybody talks about resale.
    CHECK IT ALL OUT.

There are also other CG's in the middle of nowhere that you
can buy the membership for $100 and they will sell you a C2C
membership. You may never even see that CG but you get a C2C
    membership.

I have had a C2C membership for several years but chose the park
    I wanted to call home.
Listen to all info.....then....CHECK, CHECK, CHECK

  • Funny how 'Good Sam Care Team' never answers with a general overview when this question comes up.
Always want you to make ANOTHER Contact so they can ........what??
Whisper the secret code OR try to UP-SELL.

Come on Care Team........OP asked for basic info and you passed....didn't even address OPs questions.
Give it up and answer a question just ONCE in this OPEN ROADS Forum.
Is that just not doable :S

Following info is based on my own personal experience with C2C
    Hope it helps

C2C is an 'affiliate' camping program that can be part of a 'home resort' membership

C2C requires yearly membership dues (in addition to home resort dues)
Yearly dues ae based on C2C membership level (Classic/Deluxe/Premier----$89/$139 yr)

C2C affiliate membership allows you to stay at various private CGs across US/CAN/MX for reduced nightly rates ($10/15 nite) and stays at Encore/Good Neighbor CGs for slightly higher nightly fees.

Level of membership determines length of stay (7 nights vs 14 nights) and which private CGs you can use (Classic only Classic vs Deluxe at Classic and Deluxe etc)

Home Park affiliate membership determines which C2C level you can join.

We Ftd for 7 yrs and had C2C Deluxe.......we could stay up to 14 nights per visit at $10/$15 night vs normal nightly fee of $35/$65/Whatever

C2C affiliate CGs did have some restrictions of usage (peak seasons/weekends/holidays etc) but not all had these restrictions nor did they really affect us as we traveled about

C2C affiliate CGs do have 'reservation' requirements which is very easy to do on-line via C2C website....very user friendly

C2C affiliate CGs are spread all over........some in 'destination areas' some in out of the way areas.

We used them WHEN they were convenient for or travels.....HEY as a FTr we had to park somewhere every night so might as well only pay $10/$15

It is a decent membership program.
Can save members money when used

Not sure WHAT 'campforever' EXTREME CAUTION is about ?????

My only word of caution is BUY RESALE (NEVER BUY DIRECT)
    RESALE ....and then USE IT!

Saved us LOTS in CG Site fees and we stayed in same private CGs that those that paid High Dollar for did.

    RESALE ONLY
