Due to Renew

It is 7/20.policy expires 8/20. Have not heard from GMAC/National
at all. Do they wait until the last minute??
  • Decision made. Called multiple insurance companies & agents. Also Called Nat.General. Totaly unsatisfactory call. No valid explantion for the price raise.Told that was the way it was and pay up. No Thanks.
    Will be going with a company that has a special agent just for HDT's and truely understands our vehicles.Price is way less ($450.00).the time on the phone was worthwhile.
    If Good Sam is supposed to be monitoring these boards and contacting people that have issues, just to let everyone know they never contacted me in any way.
  • We were switched to paperless without our knowledge. We will be shopping for a different company before February and not renew. They did not answer my emails. Had we not have remembered, our insurance would have lapsed. Yeah, name only, I don't think so!
  • You don't have to go through national general. They will quote you through other companies. We have ours through allied which was half price of GMAC/national general. This was through the same agent with GS/CW inc.
  • I got my renewal on time but the premium increased by over $500.00 per year with no claims in the first year.They said they rated my policy wrong the first year but gave it to me for the quoted price,,,Yeah right..Called my old company and got same coverage for $300.00 less.
  • Started yesterday getting other quotes from other insurance companies.One was over $500 less which makes me a little suspicious that they do not know what they are quoting on. Also makes me wonder why National General is so much higher. More phone calls to make on Monday. Having an HDT as a toter makes insurance shopping so time consuming but at least we know our toter can not only haul our fiver, but stop it too in any situation.

    I believe it just auto renews unless you cancel it. I don't have GMAC though. I do believe I got a new policy and bill followed up within the last month from allied.
  • Never did hear from GMAC/National General. Had to call twice this week in order to get the info as to how to go on line and find the info. Was promised an email of the proposal, did not get even though email addy was verified 3 times. After the second call, did finally recive a link to find the info.
    Of course there was a jump in price of 250.00.

    So far, a poor communication service rating for GMAC/National General.

    It is 30 days until renewal. Doesn't sound like the last minute to me.
  • It seems like I usually get a notice telling me that my policy has lapsed:S

    With the big transition from GMAC to National General, it may be that they are to busy to get out renewal notices. Or, they want to wait for the renewals, to use the NG letterheads.

    Typically, if you are going to renew, just send in your payment, and they will eventually get the paperwork to you.
