Fed up with good sam roadside

I have had Good Sam Roadside Service for 11 years now. I have used it twice for my car ( great response) and three times for my RV, awful at best. Can anyone recommend a good service for RV's?
  • Coach-net is another popular one that gets generally good reports.

There was a thread on Coach Net recently here, and apparent recent changes weren't positive. Search, you can find it. I have Coach net but haven't needed to use it, so can't say how it is.
  • I have Coach Net. A week ago had a flat tire ( right front). Coach Net would not send a tire service out cause I had no spare and Coach Net didn't want the liability (according to the non service provider) if I repaired the tire. Coach Net said nobody would repair a steering tire.

Called a local shop, they said BS. They came out, fixed the tire and $100.00 later all was fine.

I have had GS and now Coach Net, neither of them are, as far as I'm concerned are worth a bucket of warm spit.

Sort of like these home warranties we buy for our homes. Which I will never buy again (home warranty insurance). Pay so much a month, need a repair that's $50 to give to whoever shows up for the repair. And they can cancel you at any time. Plus they choose what they will repair without costs to you.
  • its a gamble with all these roadside service providers. i had good and bad results with aaa too. i have both aaa and gs but am thinking of getting the garmin rv gps as a backup if gs fails me. it lists rv tow and repair providers.
  • I have C.N used couple times in the past no problem ,but from reading on here it went down hill. I have towing service on my cars. today I,m gonna call and ask if I have any service on the rv.
  • It seems to me that it boils down to what local tow/repair companies are signed up with the service. What would be interesting is to know which provider (AAA, Good Sams, Coach Net) has the higher payment allowances. I've got a great mechanic that also does a lot of towing...I think I'll see what he has to say.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Good Sam's roadside assistance provided by the same company as Allstate's roadside assistance service?
  • I have had GS roadside assistance for 12 years. Used it 3 times for the motorhomes and once for a car. EXCELLENT response and service. Just lucky, I guess.
  • I insured my motorhome with Progressive. I had roadside assistance with them too. I had an electrical problem in Alaska 125 miles from help. They sent someone right out and towed me to their shop.

I had two broken windshields. Had them replaced almost immediately. They sent someone to me with the glass.

The coverage was only a few bucks for the year.
