Final Decision on Road Service Contract
Since I am leaving in Late August to full time I needed to make a decision about a road service plan.
After many months of reading, and responding to a huge number of complaints on this site by many who have had a less than satisfactory experience with GSRSA and after hours of research reading through Coachnet, AAA and Allstate RV plan service agreements I have come to a decision.
I will buy the Good Sam RSA plan.
To be sure I was fair about this decision I had my friend Mary review all the plans and tell me what she thought. She has not read this forum or the site and thus is free of any influence of the mass of complaints. Which puts GSRSA on an equal footing with the others.
I did not want my participation in these discussions to unduly sway me against what in reality may be the best plan.
Some of my reasons for choosing the GSRSA are these:
Coverage in Mexico
Unlimited Tow Mileage
Overall I feel a close inspection of the contracts of all three tilt in favor of GSRSA.
This was in some ways a tough decision because in reality the three plans are very much alike. And you need to read the entire service agreement of each one to fully understand the limitations. These plans are filled with "Fluff" especially in the top end plans, stuff most people will never use, probably don't want and is there only to make the list of "benefits" look longer. I ignored all of these types of so called "services" in this process.
Now I have been at times a vocal, but I feel fair, critic of GSRSA and some of their responses to customers needs as expressed here on this forum and I do feel they have some possibly serious structural problems inside RSA. My guess is their call center is NOT their own and that is where so many of the problems we see expressed here stem from.
So I will give them a chance to prove themselves to me and hopefully I will never have to put them to a test.
Just a note: I did NOT consider this forum in GSRSA's favor in terms of getting resolution on a particular problem as I feel I can do just as well and probably faster on the phone with any of them.
