First time not satisfied with ERS

Good Sam Roadside Assistance utilizes Allstate Insurance to Dispatch, Signature Motor Club is thier designation for tows through Good Sam.

As the OP was assist I am closing this thread as well.

That seems to be SOP. You never know what the charges are for. Give an itemized receipt! Last 2 times we called the charges were high in my opinion. Each time we got a partial refund "out of courtesy." If they keep refunding how are they staying afloat. If one didn't know better(?) one might think GSER is making a little on the side. Caller ID said my call was from Allstate Ins and the service order I signed was billed to Signature Motor Club.

No details was given, just asked for a credit card number just in case any other parts was necessary. I understood that to mean that if he had to replace the valve stem, that I would have to pay for that. As I stated, on three other occasions, when I had a 5er, tires was removed and spares installed as part of the service call. On one occasion I had to have them bring a new tire and I had to pay for that but that cost was expected.

Pulled up to get fuel , went to check the tire pressures. Removed the valve stem cap one one tire and heard a hiss noise (loosing air) , put the cap back on drove over to a Napa parts store, went in to buy a valve stem cap that has the two little prongs on the end of it. They were all out, I told the counter guy all I needed to do was tighten the valve stem core . I did ,came back in and he simply put it back into the package. Wouldn't even take a tip from me. Now that's customer service..

Yeah I know everybody has to make a buck BUT $126.00 to check , tighten , put some air in a tire. Unless you live way out in the boon docks that is a straight up or should I say bend over rip off ! Even at half that price is a rip off !

Now back to the OP was the tire flat ? If not you should have driven it to the local tire shop , or have the tire changed out with your spare, and then driven to the local tire shop and had them check out the tire. If they were honest they would have found the valve stem core loose ,tightened it, aired it up checked it for any leaks and then reinstalled it on your car for minimal cost say maybe a $20 bill ... or no cost-- a hand shake and a please come back and see us for ? and have a great day..

Just asking, confused. last timer I had a flat, they brought a tire, mounted it on the side of the road. I paid for the tire and just signed his service ticket. Gave him a tip but that was all I paid. Things seem to have changed.

sorry for the confusion, but anytime you need parts or labor while broken down on the side of the road you would be responsible for those charges. Now in dealing with an RV, costs of parts and labor are going to be higher than a normal car, truck or SUV. Did our coordinator give you the details on the charges as far as how much for and for what?

Are you sure the company would of only charged $126 to come out and do what they did? I would call the company and maybe two others and see what prices they give you. Would be interested in seeing what the price would be. I do agree that $126 is steep for putting air. I have no idea what it ie tails to tighten the valve stem though. Did he have to take the tire off to do it?

I think there is a problem with the service provider's billing. The cost of repairing the valve and airing the tire certainly could not cost $126.00 PLUS the cost of the service call.

Well I heard from GS yesterday. Not sure I completely understand what he told me but he is going to refund 1/2 of the charge as a good will gesture.

I was told that they will pay for a service call but that I was responsible for the cost on the service man tightening the valve stem and putting air in the tire, $126.00
