A few days before I bought my 2006 F53 chassis motorhome, with 28K miles on it, the rear failed. The dealer spent $4400 for a total rebuild at a truck shop. The cause was a failed bearing that ate the differential. I had similar failure on a 2 year old F-250 Diesel. Just my experience, but waiting for 100K on the ODO before you properly maintain that rear is looking for trouble. I do mine every three years, or fifty thousand. The labor and the crazy expensive OEM gear oil were still only about 4% of the cost of rebuilding the thing. Cheap insurance. Good luck, and remember, the cash you would of spent on an extended warranty, tucked away in a savings account, is going to be a much better investment than buying the warranty, 99.9% of the time.
