Good Sam ESP, Lock in rate

I attended the Atlanta Rally and it was great. However, I do have a situation that I want to bring to your attention. While attending the rally, I talked to a rep at the ESP counter. I explained that my 4 year old ESP plan on my 2010 Fleetwood Pulse was about to expire in a few days. I wanted to renew my ESP with a locked in rate for the next 3 years. I was told that was possible and I could do it upon returning home.

When I got home from the rally I called to extend my plan. I was told that I can only renew one year at a time and that the rate lock-in was not available for me. I renewed my policy at that time but was disappointed that my rate was not locked in.

Much to my surprise I received a Camping World ad with a letter from you announcing the new rate lock plan. I was very happy and called ESP to check if I was included. I was very politely told that this does not apply to me.

I don't understand. I purchased my 2010 Fleetwood Pulse new in
October 2009 and bought a 4 year ESP plan at that time. My Pulse has about 17k miles and I never used the warranty in that time. (Never had a problem)

Please understand that all the people I dealt with from Good Sam were very polite and helpful. They did what they were instructed to do.

I only hope that by bringing this to your attention, you can assist me in this matter.

  • Thank you for your reply. I appreciate the free year of Good Sam Roadside assistance and the waived transaction fee. However I do think the letter Marcus posted in the CW ad is a little misleading, (I could not find anything in the ad that the lock in rate did not apply to existing customers). I enjoy being a Good Sam member and all the benefits that come with it.
  • 5th year? It's a 2010 RV that he bought in October 2009. Wouldn't a 5th year be starting October 2014?
  • I'm sorry that the representative at the rally mis-informed you about the qualifications for the rate lock. Because you are now in your fifth year of coverage, we can no longer lock the rate and it is subject to a cost of living adjustment each year at renewal. As I promised you in our earlier e-mail, I will insure that your rate does not increase more than 5% per year. Additionally, our customer service representatives provided you with a free year of Good Sam Roadside assistance and waived the monthly transaction fees as a good will gesture for your trouble. I'm sorry that we can't do anything more to lock in your rates in the future.
