Good Sam Care Team - BourbonRamExplorerSo is there a lifetime discount for law enforcement and or veterans? I knew there used to be but at the time I already had a 4 year membership. Now I'm ready to renew and would like to take advantage of this discount. Any assistance would be appreciated.

In the past, I thought they did give a first responders discount.
I know if you want to buy a lifetime membership it is best to call, they can be somewhat flexible with discounts.
They did...its how I got my Lifetime membership. I think it was $149 or there abouts. And as a Law Enforcement officer and veteran of the United States Air force, I appreciate any consideration (no matter how big or small) for my service to protect others. It's never done for the pay, that's for sure. - stew9483ExplorerI have been a Lifetime member since 1992 and it has more than paid for itself several times. We use it everywhere we go from campgrounds to buying gas. I bought it when I was 28 years old. We love it!
- malexanderExplorerWe bought our lifetime membership in 1996. IIRC, $3??.00 maybe, I really don't remember what we paid for it. I don't even know what the annual dues are now. So, in 20 years, has it paid for itself? I dunno. But, I don't have to remember to renew every year.......and getting older, it's easier to forget stuff.
Oh yeah, we were in our mid 30's at the time. - OaklevelExplorer

"Investing" in a lifetime membership to the Good Sam Club is not wise for the following reasons:
1. The annual membership is so low that any savings realized is minimal at best.
2. How long will one actually use the benefits? Health and family issues change quickly and would eliminate any savings when one quits RVing.
3. The Good Sam Club is a for profit enterprise that sole purpose is to enrich the owners of the club. Therefore, they can and do change any benefits that serve them and not necessarily the members. (That is not bad, it is just the business model.)
Sorry could not disagree more. We have had our Lifetime Membership for about 10 years at the price we paid at the time it has paid for its self several times with the park discounts alone and even more so now with the tie to Camping World. We should have bought it when we started camping in the 1980s...... We are money ahead and plan on camping and using the discounts at least 10 more years. So we have saved hundreds if not more by going with a life membership. - beemerphile1Explorer

If that was to happen you might as well give it to soldiers and veteran's also. I see them as deserving more than any one.
I believe they already do or at least they did. - Bird_FreakExplorer IIIf that was to happen you might as well give it to soldiers and veteran's also. I see them as deserving more than any one.

You can also thank your Optician if you use glasses, an electrician and a lineman if you read it at night, a plumber if you read it on the toilet, an innkeeper if you read it in a hotel, a software engineer if you read it on a computer, a logger if you read it in paperback, a banker if you read it in your home you bought with a mortgage, a farmer if you read it at dinner and on and on and on. The idea that someone's job is more important than another's is just elitism. We are all interconnected and what we do is critical to one another. Our world would be a much worse place if any profession suddenly stopped performing their jobs.
If you can read this, thank a teacher.
If it's in English, thank a soldier.
