GS ESP looks for loopholes and doesn't pay

I have yet to hear of an extended service plan, or extended warranty that actually paid for itself. Nothing but pure profit for dealers.

You need to read and understand what you are buying. 3k a year is a very, very expensive policy. My policy for my car has paid over 6K the first year. It cost 2k for three years. My MH policy has paid well over 8K in the last 5 years. It cost 7K for 7 years.
I am not saying all companies are honest and forthright but I am happy with my coverage and company. We have disagreed on a couple items but when I read the contract the part is clearly not covered. Are the a gamble? Yes, but blow a turbo or slideout motor or loose an engine cooling fan clutch and you can see the benefit. I personally like the piece of mind.
Does you policy cover rubber hoses or tubing? Most don't. I do think you got burned big time if you paid 3K for a years coverage.

I agree with Rollinhome! you win some and you lose some but when you win your very thankful you had the service. Its very important to read and understand the terms and conditions, I found this online from Good Sam ESP- terms and conditions clearly state hoses are not covered on the generator. So the rubber tube/hose that failed would not be covered.

AUXILIARY POWERPLANT/GENERATOR ASSEMBLY - Covers all parts, except for the following: Spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, ignition rotor, injectors, exhaust systems, radiators, belts, hoses, lines and fittings, and all wiring.

I am a little surprised at the implied replacement cost. Not clearly stated but equal some amount the is the sum of your deductible and less than $500 for the insured/warranted portion. However the failed component does not appear to be covered by the purchased warranty contract. The contract was written by GS but was supposed to have been read by yourself!

This is an easy one to fix.
Your response needs to be "We're sorry, we made a mistake. We'll get a check out to you at once."
Anything short of that exposes you for being a fraud.

Why would they admit to a mistake if the item is listed as not covered in the contract? Read the contract people. If you do you will find a lot more is excluded than covered.

Scott I usually agree with you. On this one I'm not so sure. We really don't have all the facts. Tend to think the hose portion split or maybe the fitting somehow went bad. Have not seen many dipstick tubes fail and not to the tune of $500+

Afterthought... I wonder what shop was doing the repair?
