I had the contract for almost a year now and my RV service center called for approval of a dip stick tube for the generator and was told since it had "some rubber" in it it wasn't covered, 90% of it was steel. This was going to be less than a $500 amount after my deductible. My only claim and denied, looks like that was a waste of $3K for the year. Now they want me to renew, they must be kidding.

I have yet to hear of an extended service plan, or extended warranty that actually paid for itself. Nothing but pure profit for dealers.

Since I've never had much luck gambling, I choose not to purchase an ESP.

You said you have a $500.00 deductible, so would it have made a difference even it would have been covered? would that rubber tube itself cost over $500.00?

You need to read and understand what you are buying. 3k a year is a very, very expensive policy. My policy for my car has paid over 6K the first year. It cost 2k for three years. My MH policy has paid well over 8K in the last 5 years. It cost 7K for 7 years. I am not saying all companies are honest and forthright but I am happy with my coverage and company. We have disagreed on a couple items but when I read the contract the part is clearly not covered. Are the a gamble? Yes, but blow a turbo or slideout motor or loose an engine cooling fan clutch and you can see the benefit. I personally like the piece of mind. Does you policy cover rubber hoses or tubing? Most don't. I do think you got burned big time if you paid 3K for a years coverage.

So what you're telling me is that the silver plan is just a waste of money. According to the list of items covered under the silver plan I should have been covered. Unfortunately I didn't get what I paid for. I'm sure you had good luck with your plan and that's why you are so protective. As I stated earlier I have no doubt that others have had great service. It didn't work for me so I cancelled. Fool me once, your fault, fool me twice my fault. All the best.

I do not have GS warranty/mechanical insurance.

Edited: I don't know enough about the generator. So I retracted my statement.

I was told that it wasn't a covered part. It was the GS policy. I was so angry that I cancelled immediately. I was then asked to pay a $50 cancellation fee. Thanks to the help of one of the GS rapid response team and the fact that I am a life GS member they waived the fee.
Many on here claim to have received great service and I have no reason to doubt that. It just didn't work for me. Good luck.

Was it a GS policy? Why did they refuse coverage? It is not on the excluded list therefore I would think it would be covered.

Your response needs to be "We're sorry, we made a mistake. We'll get a check out to you at once."
Anything short of that exposes you for being a fraud.

He posted at 2pm, 25 minutes later Good Sam responded. In YOUR mind, they blew him off. Are Companies NOT allowed to research complaints and then get back to customers?????? Since you have no clue, IF Good Sam does NOT follow their own rules and then approves a claim, what about all the other correctly denied claims? ALL those people will then sue, because the law states, you favor one person, you have to favor ALL your customers. Ever heard the term "Goodwill"? Companies use that term when they step up and help out a customer. They will not use the term warranty or any other term. That protects them from lawsuits, when they do try to help a customer. Lets see what happens with this claim in the next few days. Then you can be snide to GS. Doug
