GSRA reimbursed me for flat tire

Several weeks ago I called GSRA to change a flat tire on my mh on a Sunday. They called me back and told me I would have to wait until Monday as they could not find anyone to change the tire. I made one phone call and got someone to come and change the tire it cost me $110. I figured GSRA would not reimburse me anything, but today I got a check from them $105. So I have to give kudos to GSRA for standing by their word and reimbursing me for all but $5.00, I can live with that. Thnks GSRA you came thru again for us.

  • Thanks Frank. I have found GSRA commitment "To do the right thing" to be very true. I wanted to be sure that Good Sam would be responsible for any failure arising from their selected service provider as that contract is between GS and the provider and not become the obligation of the customer vs. the provider as the customer's contract is between them and GS..

That gives we Good Sam customers peace of mind knowing "Good Sam is on our side" should there be any failure or misrepresentation of a service provider chosen by Good Sam to service our needs
  • Pastor Charlie, thank you for your post.
Our commitment to you, a Good Sam Roadside Assistance Member, is to respond to your need for roadside assistance and ensure that you receive the highest quality service, from beginning to end. Our Good Sam Roadside Assistance role begins when you call our Dispatch Center for assistance and continues through the delivery of service by our certified, bonded, and insured service providers. As the Member Benefit Brochure explains, if there is a problem with the service, call us back, and we will make it right.

Also, regarding the original post by Grandpere that addressed the ability to locate a Service Provider, our ongoing commitment is to deliver service to you, our member, on time, every time. If we stumble on that objective, we will make it right. Although the immediate availability of a service provider, matched to your roadside disablement, may be affected by location, weather, time of day, day of week, traffic conditions, holidays, etc., we will continue the process to locate a service provider to meet your needs. We appreciate your feedback and your participation in the RV.net Forum.
    Thank you for your membership.

The purpose of the Good Sam Roadside Assistance program is to provide roadside assistance…which is required to enable the vehicle to either proceed safely under its own power, or to be towed to the nearest professional service center for repair.
As specified in the Member Benefit Brochure: “When you call Good Sam Roadside Assistance, know that our representatives are specifically trained to answer questions about RV complexities and how to handle vehicle disablement situations. Explain the vehicle’s problem so we can send the proper equipment to assist you. Your Certified Dispatch Representative may ask you to hold while the appropriate local Emergency Service Provider is contacted. We’ll confirm the estimated time of arrival and provide you with the information on the Service Provider who is coming to assist you.”

We are to understand then, that if there is any problem with our GSRA that GOOD SAM is responsible for remedying the problem with the provider and not the customer vs. provider; since the provider was chosen and contracted by GOOD SAM?

  • GSRA is the responsible party. My contract is with them, not some secondary company.

In my experience, GS just runs interference between the provider and the customer. The provider is suppose to find help, my guess is that they did not want to pay the weekend price.

  • Good to know, I would never have expected the positive result. But I also question why GS through it's nationally contracted roadside assistance provider could not find assistance. Not blaming Good Sam for this, rather the contracted provider. I think Allstate...not sure.
