You are seeing why many of us have dropped GS from our lives in regards to addresses and the like. They send out a ton of email and snail mail solicitations every year. I was lucky enough to be sent a card just before I changed physical address. And since I moved without leaving an official address change notice I got off Scott free! No junk mail! The emails are automatically sent to the spam folder.
In your case, you probably got an email with your member number? And expiration date? That's all you need at most places. So just write it down on a slip of paper and carry it in your wallet. I've found that the number and date are accepted in virtually every location giving the GS discount.
