Led light strip install

Does this go for 39.00 I was quoted 150.00 at caning world in Oxford al
  • I just spit my coffee out!!!!!! Are you putting the strip in an already set place?? Replacing a regular light or fl. light? If so, do it yourself!!!!! It's a matter of matching the wire and using those wiring thingies to hold the wires together and away from other wires. I've done it and if I can do it so can you! If it's a matter of putting a light where no other light exists.....well, I, too, would question the cost!
  • Sounds like Camping World!!! I sure hope you didn't pay that! Tell us (the forum) more about what you are doing, and we can help. Lots of us have done a lot replacing lights with LEDs and installing LED strips. Pictures if possible.
  • If your talking about something like this?
16.4ft(5M) 5050 300LEDs/pc RGB multi-color Waterproof(IP-65) SMD Flexible Strip light with 44key IR Remote Controller
    They are $29.99 @Amazon.
  • I doubt a custom installation that requires extra wiring would qualify for the $39 install.
  • The Camping World in Oxford,AL closed three years ago and is now Dandy RV. The closest Camping World to Oxford,AL is in Calera , AL south of Birmingham on I-65. Dandy RV I believe charges $125 an hour for labor. Great dealer, this where I purchased my fiver from and they service it also.
  • Hello Mike2422,

Thank you for your inquiry! There are a couple things that go into the $39 install, which include what needs to be installed and also the part has to be purchased at the store. If you already contacted the store, then the price you were quoted was correct. I hope this helps, adn please let me know if you need anything else at all. Thank you for your time and have a good day!

  • Be careful about the purchase price as well. You can get them for between $29 and $39 on Amazon or EBay and they are a snap to install yourself. But, I noted in the recent Trailer Life issue that they did an article on the led strips and reviewed Dometics' for some ridiculous price of over $200 and that the ones at Campers World go for around $150 if I am not mistaken. There can't be that much difference in quality. Search the forums, many articles on how to install, etc.
