Maybe Need To Ask Marcus Directly Or C2C ?

Nobody twisted our arm back in 2013 when we fell for I mean bought into C2C.
The slick salesguy at the local CW sold us on it with a 2011 book. We told him we were going cross country and would be staying at College Park CG to see DC. He showed us the CG was listed IN THE 2011 book.
To our surprise when we called the CG to set up the dates we would be there they said they were no longer in the C2C directory !

A few phone calls later to C2C we had to pay up front and they reimbursed us for the difference . That was the right thing to do and they did ! kudos for them doing that.

Now to my gripe
I don't know if we're going to drive 2 hours or 10 hours in one day getting to our destination !
(but ol slick that sold us the C2C membership "oh its so easy you just find the CG in the area you want to stay at that night then call ahead and they will set it up) NOT !
We tried that a couple times and NO CAN DO we were told.

This mapping out finding a C2C CG that is in their directory which alot of times had we used them we would of had to go way out of our way we were headed to even use one !

So they need to change it up and let the members be able to either
1. Call the CG where they are and get a site if available
2. Be able to call C2C and get into a CG in their directory right then and there after they call the CG if a site is available .

I didn't renew in 2014 or 2015 and just today got a "Hey we miss you" letter and wanting me to re-up .

Unless they have changed their way of doing reservations, I'm not wasting another dime.

Yes the one stay in CP in MD paid for and then some savings for us , but we couldn't use it anywhere else along the way . We didn't know where we would be in three days let alone the very next day !
We just knew we needed to be in CP on a certain date...

  • Any type of camping organizations that have to have a BOOK of rules is way to complicated for this old school camper. Usually these rules are so hidden in the other paragraphs that no one knows what is going on. NOT FOR ME!!!!!!
  • We are Canadian snowbirds. We leave home in fall using the current year
C2C book as our guide. We have a Premier membership.

Up until this year we have not found any major problem using C2C and have
found it a very cost saving program.

This fall we booked into a CG for eight nights, then we tried to book into
the next CG heading home. This is when we found out "THE RULE'.
Apparently if we are Premier members and stay free for over seven nights,
we have to be out of the system for seven days before we can book again.

This rule is "NOT IN THE GUIDE BOOK". We did find it online.
We were told it was in the 2016 book, but , as mentioned, we were using the
2015 book. We would not receive our 2016 book until we return home in Spring.

Upon returning home March 29, we found the 2016 book.
THIS RULE IS NOT IN THE 2016 BOOK EITHER.

We have talked to several people from C2C and they have all insisted the rule
has been there and in the books. I would love to know the page number it is on. I have found most of the other rules, but not this one.
  • We are full-timing. At the present we are in a "Good Neighbor Park" (GNP) in Albuquerque with full hook-ups, 50 amp service and wi-fi. A GNP costs us 1500 points/night ($15.00) and we have to pay the areas taxes, plus a surcharge for 50 over 30 amps.

We're here for 7 nights for a total of less than $135. Less than $20/day.

Sure, we had to make the reservation 3 days before we got here, but it took less than 5 minutes online.

Without asking my accountant (SO) about what we've saved in the last year, I'd put it at about $700-800 if you count the average night in a commercial campground at about $35/night.

Full timers can save a bundle using C2C and Escapees if they plan ahead. We boondocked at an Escapees park east of Temecula for six nights at $5/night and $5 to dump ($35 total). We have 600 amps of solar, so it might not work for everyone, but it works well for us.

    Edit:

GNP parks are only one of about 5 different ratings for parks in the Coast 2 Coast system. We are Premier members and stay at many of the campgrounds free for up to 7 days. Since last November, we"ve stayed 21 days in "free" campgrounds, again at $35/day, about $700 in savings.

You need to do the math and see if it works for you.
  • To OFDPOS:

We would like to speak with you about your feedback on Coast to Coast and see if we can find a resolution for you. I see from your profile information that your name is Brian Carr, but we have several people by this name in our member system and therefore we are not sure how to contact you. If you can reply with an email address or phone number we will be in touch with you to see what we can do to help.

    Thank you,
  • Old-Biscuit,

Thank you again for your time and postings. In this situation the team and I felt the best way we can help this member, is to have a expert within the C2C leadership team reach out to the member directly. This will help ensure that any concern or question that the member might have is addressed. I want to thank you again for your time and sharing your experience in your recent post. Have a great week and travel safe always.

    Thank you,

    Mark
    Rapid Response team.
  • We used C2C for 7 yrs we FTd

When we used it....we did everything via the C2C website.

All reservations were to be made this way.......very few C2C affiliate CGs would take direct phone call reservations and only one allowed us to just show up

Had to have reservations in order to utilize the C2C affiliate CGs so doing so on-line was a piece of cake

Just had to register....then sign in to your own personal account.
Make reservations, keep tract of 'Points', buy points, tracking of past reservations etc.

Website to 'register OR sign in' for C2C

Why 'Rapid Response Team can't supply basic info always makes me chuckle----any response is always a canned reply :H :S
  • Hello OFDPOS,

Thank you for taking the time to write in and my apologies for the experience you have had. I would like you to know that I have forwarded your information over to our executive team and requested that someone reach out. Take care.
