No Good Sam Gas Discount

On a recent trip for some reason despite entering my Good Sam card multiple times I did not receive my 5 cent discount for my RV fill up at a Flying J gas station. A few days later I tried again at another Flying J location and I received the discount as usual. Is this discount only at participating locations? I thought it was everywhere.

I have the receipts, they show my discount card, but no savings. What should I do?: Send copies of receipts to Good Sam? Or to Flying J? Please provide the email or US mail addresses I will need.

Thank you...

  • This has been beat to death but research TSD fuel program. I always fuel at truck stops using this card which is free. Last I counted I have save about $700 dollars this year and I have NOT traveled like normal, about 3/4 time. Had this been a "normal" year it would have been over $1000. GS can keep their piddly 5 cents. While your researching you see where GS sued the company because of a "deal" with Pilot & Flying J. I have questioned if GS had some kind of deal with the fuel suppliers like this card offers and then they passed on the pittance of 5 cents to us and pocketed the rest of the savings. Like I said this has been beat to death, do your research and decide yourself. With that I'm done, good luck with what YOU decide.
  • Get away from the truck stops and you'll save a lot more. Why cause yourself problems?

  • We use a AAA credit card for all fuel purchases, and only use it for fuel purchased at the pump. We get a 5% not just 5cent discount credit on all purchases at any fueling location ANY. NOT just at flying J 5% at $ 2.40/gal is .12c / gal. Good Sams discount 5cents is laughable
AAA knows this, and has called on my cell ph. to verify that I am who and where I am when I attempt to exceed the limit I set on the charges and designated my travel.
Designated charge accounts will also sinplify your bookkepping, as we have done while we owned the camp, fuel charges during season were for business use, in off season for personal use.
Where we could claim expenses for business use in off season, for example. to attend a convention, having separate credit card charge accounts for each aspect of travel.
We Established credit card charge accounts with 4 banks and many local businesses and were very careful to delineate which is which.
    1 - personal
    2 - business
    3- fuel
    4- vehicle
In each category there is no guess work as to tax deduction when it comes time to file with the IRS.
You will do better, and safer( identity theft ?) with charge accounts assigned to only specific purchases .
Your credit card company will assign approved purchases to only specific type businesses you specify.
  • Franchisees can charge what they wish and ignore discounts.

Thank you for your time and post. Please note discounts are available at company owned and operated Pilot Flying J locations only. If you have the time please send me a PM with the location in which you had difficulties. I would be happy to review and provide you an update.

    Thank you,
