No Praises for GSRA Today - I Need to Rant

Let me start off by saying I've been a member of GSRA a long time and have been satisfied with service received when needed until now. I will also say that I take full responsibility for getting myself into this situation to begin with but when help was needed, it was no where to be found.

I was on my way out to Ocotillo Wells with the family for a day of fun in the desert. Our toys riding comfortably on the utility trailer behind the truck. At about mile marker 11 on S2, we had a blow out on the trailer. This is when I realized I had taken the spare off the trailer to load the toys and forgot to put it back. After a few choices words, I called Good Sam. The lady, Amanda was very nice, located a tire and service to come out but said because of where we were, it could take up to an hour and a half to get to us. OK, we wait. At the 1 1/2 hour mark, we get a call from the tow driver, he's still over an hour away. So we wait some more. An hour later, he calls back, he's lost. I asked him if he had a map or GPS and you guessed it, he said no. I told the guy to take a hike. Called GSRA back and let them know what happened. They offered to find someone else but by this time I'd been sitting on the side of the road for almost 4 hours. I said forget it. By this time, our friends we were supposed to meet in the desert had come looking for us. Removed the tire, got it replaced in Borrego, and back on the trailer in less than an hour. Wasted almost have a day on the side of the road waiting for nothing.

I know the GSRA is only the middle person here but you need to do a better job of screening the companies you work with. In today's technology age, what tow driver doesn't carry a GPS?

Just wanted to vent some frustration, thanks for listening.

Frank
