Problem at Camping World

My wife and I have shopped at Camping World for a number of years-bought my first 5ver there. We bought a couple of lawn chairs that started to fall apart in less than one year. Took them to the store and I was told their is nothing that can be done. I remember when chairs lasted several years before needing replacement and I surely don't think you should have to buy an extended warranty like the sales person told me when I showed them to her. I have decided to now do my shopping at Amazon where they will replace defective merchandising or give you a refund-I only expected some kind of reasonable store type credit since we have used the chairs. I would then have bought two new ones right then and there.I am going to let my GS roadside assistance expire and also my store card when it comes due. I looked at some new 5vers at CW and I have decided to buy elsewhere. I sent an email in to CW but they wrote back that they were sending my email to the executive committee at CW (that is the person who sits in a small room with a round file that gets emptied every day in the trash).

  • Sorry for your problem but I'm laughing because a friend bought 2 chairs at the Quartzsite swap meet last year. One broke. This year he took it back and they gave him a new chair no questions asked.

I went into a CW yesterday. The sales person that tried to help me probably never stepped inside an RV in his life. Friendly guy but I wasted my time going to CW.

I agree with the previous post. Since Marcus took over CW has gone down hill.

Have to agree. While he has charmed so many viewers with his TV shows, the fact is he is only about profits and has done nothing to promote good customer relations. His tactics remind me of the worst used car salesman who who will do or say anything to get the initial sale but all he's really interested in is making every penny possible from every sale.
  • I brought two lawn chairs from Cabela's Jan of last year..and during Sept both chairs broke in the same place, I called Cabela's told them about the problem...they sent me two new chairs & told me to put the old chairs in the box the new ones were shipped in & return them...plus them paid all shipping cost & told me "sorry for your trouble"...more company's need to do business like this.
  • Come on now! You didn't by the extended warranty? Another rip off. My neighbor has two from HF in my trailer headed for the dump. Frames and tattered material. Are you talking about the expensive recliners or the cheaper folding ones?
  • Contact the manufacturer of the chairs. Camping World only sold them, they didn't build them.

Most stores will take a product back in a reasonably short period of time. Your post reads like these chairs were used for nearly a year.

If the product is defective, the warranty is from the manufacturer, not the seller.
  • Today it's all junk from China! That's what happens when we send our jobs else where so we can pay cheap and they in return guarantee their jobs buy selling us another piece of junk again.
    That's my $0.02.

  • How long was the warranty stated to be from normal wear and tear?
  • Believe me, I know your disappointment! Some years ago, I had a similiar problem with Sears. Sears even admitted their mistake but would not make it right. I had shopped their since I was a kid. I will no longer visit or buy Sears product. Tis a shame businesses do no know of and appreciate "back end value".
