Have a problem with a value stem on my motorhome. Called goodsams platinum membership. They are setting up service. But I was told it was $87.50 for parts and labor huh? What good is it for me to pay for this service if all they do is call someone to do the service? My Geico insurance has that included with my policy and I don't pay $114 a year for it. My bad lesson learned.

Thank you nbargolf for the post. To clarify, Good Sam Roadside pays to deliver the service provider to you in this case. Just as if you take your vehicle into a repair shop, the cost of labor and parts is your responsibility. In this case, a mobile heavy duty tire truck would be dispatched to your location, and would remove the wheel and tire from your RV. They would proceed to remove the tire from the rim to replace the valve stem from the inner rim, then remount the tire on the rim and reinstall on the vehicle.I would like to review with you any other specifics of this situation. I don't understand your complaint?? Did they get you service? Was it the GSRA assistant that quoted $87.50 for parts and labor? All Road Side assistance does is get some one to come out and fix it or take it some where to have it fixed.The cost of the repair isn't free,, the minute they make contact with a service company the ticker starts counting!! Like a cab.

I would gladly pay $114.00 if they came out and fixed everything for free. :)

My post was to state that if you have roadside assistance on your insurance policy the goodsams does the same thing so the $114 a year for me is just an added expense. so for now on I'll call my insurance provider and save the $114 which BTW would have paid for this. :S

I had a trans seal blow and Progressive towed my Class A 90 miles at no charge.

Everyone with an internet connection has a nationwide network of mobile tire trucks...it is called Google!
you beat me to it John. I don't see why anyone would pay a service to make a phone call for them. cell phone and google is your friend.

I had exactly the same experience with Coachnet except i didnt know the flat was caused by a hole in the inside dually valve stem. Coachnet sent a truck who replaced the valve stem with a spare he had in his truck. No charge of any kind.

Yep, you could do that....but more than likely, your insurance company will consider it a claim.

I have left a message to speak to the highest level in your department. I have had a very bad experience with your " superior roadside assistance dispatch company" you said is based out of the city of Paramount in California.
Also your reps misconstrued my issue and refused to send out another dispatch service to help me with my flat tire.
this was a horrific nightmare! You left me stranded in a bad neighborhood for 3 hours! You lied about my situation between me and the Roadside assistance company you sent out to me.
This needs to be noted and sent to the highest levels of your organization. I demand it. No person should be treated the way I was treated today . And given no way to get help . You left me stranded at the side of the road and I am a paying member in good standing that is a first time caller!!!
I demand the CEO or the Vice president contact me ASAP!
NI am filing a complaint with the better buisness bureau against this company you sent me . You said it was " Superor roadside assistance" in Paramount CA. I googles them and there is no website or contact info on line. I cant find that company.

3:25 PM-- was promised they would arrive in 45 min.
they didn't show up till after 4:30.
the driver pulled up behind me in a bad neigborhood with a car . I couldnt see the sides of the car. license plate was in front window. Driver got out came to my door and stood there. I rolled down my window slightly and asked if he was roadside assitance. He was wearing a brown plain t- shirt. he said yes.. I asked to see identification due to the fact he had no name tag on or company shirt or jacket. He just stood their saying " what? what?"
I said please show me some id you are from roadside assitance and name tag with their name on it or something. He just got into his car and stayed there behind me. Mind you this area I was in was a very bad neighborhood in East Compton. I did not feel comfortable with this man due to the fact he was not wearing a company shirt or jacket or name tag nor did he provide me with any paper work that I could see Superior Roadside Assistance with.. I did not want to get out of my care due to feeling unsafe . A woman by herself in a bad neighborhood.
this man didnt show me any thing that made me feel safe to get out of my car.
I called the number you gave me to speak to his boss. I explained I needed verification and proof this person was from his company. the boss did not ask his drive to show me proof. Then he told me he was going to tell the driver to leave.
Then the driver left.
I called good sams and your reps told me I refused service and I cant get help now.
I explained I did not refuse service that I needed verification and to see paperwork from Superior roadside on the driver in hand or on his clothing clearly showing me he represented this roadside assistance company.
Your good sams reps refused to listen to me document this incident that the company you sent me was out of line and not doing their job. And your reps treated me unfairly and with no respect. And your reps left me stranded with no help on the way for 3 hrs.
This is not helpful . It is hurtful it is damaging and it is cruel and unusual behavior coming from your end and the company you sent to assist me with my car.
I had to call another company Autovantage to help me..
I also had to call a friend/ client of mine to help me and they did at 6:30PM. they were shocked at the poor service you gave me and how you treated me leaving me stranded in bad neighborhood for so long. They got to me in 10 min and put on my spare tire in 5 min. They were just friends that I dont pay for assistance like I pay you.
Shame on Good Sams Roadside Assistance for making my life miserable today. loosing money at my job... and treating me so badly and disrespectfully.
You need to rectify this situation Immediately! You need to make sure this never happens again.

I was not able to get my car into the Costco tire shop today due the fact you made me sit in my car for 3 hrs and costco tire center was closed by that time

Maybe my reading comprehension is off,but My understanding is that the OP thinks his 114.00 dollars will cover repairs.

I'm confused. You broke down on the side of the road and they charged you for coming out? Or did you schedule a service appointment and they charged you?

If it's the later, that's not roadside assistance. Even if you did break down their obligation is to get you to a repair facility if they can't fix the issue on site. You are responsible for all repair costs that are incurred while it's in the shop.

If I understand correctly - your mistake was having the stem replaced. It would have been free if you had them put the spare tire on??? If you had a TV with a spare and a trailer with spare then no problem so are we on the right track cuz you had a MH with no spare??? Just saying...

Many of us carry duplicate roadside assistance coverage, probably because it really is not that expensive, and as sort of a security blanket if one phone operator is less than helpful. I have Good Sam, a phone number offered by my motorhome insurance company, a phone number offered by my extended warranty company, and the roadside assistance from my car(toad) insurance company. All of these advertise that they will send help...from that point on I am on my own to make repairs. They will mount a usable tire (don't have one for the MH), make roadside repairs to get me moving (pound out a fender) or tow me to appropriate repair facility. So I have multiple numbers to call for help, but I anticipate I will have to pay for the help.
That's just the way it is.
