Roadside coverage

Recommendations would be most helpful. Do you have or recommend Good Sam Roadside Assistance or Coach Net? Doing research we have found that Coach Net offers at no extra cost coverage called Assist America which will cover medical expenses should you become ill also will transport your RV back home.

I had the misfortune of having to use my Good Sam Road service recently. I was going on a long road trip so I thought the $79.95 was worth the peace of mind.I called the number and spoke to a young lady who was very helpful. She found someone to come and help me, called me back when she said she would and even called back later to make sure someone had come out. I don't feel I could have asked for better service. My only concern is that for the repairs, I paid Good Sam $384. The mechanic got me to sign the invoice and they had charged Good Sam $301. I was surprised that Good Sam was making a profit off of my misfortune. What it boils down to is that in this particular trip, I could have saved $163 by calling someone myself. But still, service was excellent.

How did Good Sam make $163? How Did you get billed by Good Sam? I did not think GS did that. I thought the non covered roadside bill was between you and the company providing the service. Even using your math there is not a $163.00 difference

I have read many complaints about road side service on this and other forums. Every service provider has had issues, as they are dependent upon the contractors they hire. It does seem that the overwhelming majority of the complaints are about Good Sam.

Sign-in to Coachnet forum and see how many complaints they have there. :S
