I have been sitting on the side of the road waiting 3 hours for the incompetent people at good Sam to tow my rv to a willing repair shop but they are idiots a they were going to send the wrong tow truck so here I sit.

It all depends 'where' you are broke down. Not necessarily GS's fault.

You can break down where there are hundreds of contracted repair shops to choose from or you can be broke down with only three close by. And then perhaps 2 of those three can not accommodate your RV. Certainly not GS fault.

THEY, GS are trying to 'find' a tow/repair for you that are contracted with GS.

They make the phone calls for you to find a GS contracted service shop near where a breakdown occurs while you are traveling.

IMHO I'll take sitting a couple of hours in some strange town after I make only 'one' phone call, then they locate a tow/repair, send it out to your destination, and then PAYS for it any day!

Good luck I hope your situation gets taken care of soon and all is well.
  • I have found that if you know the type of tow truck needed, you need to ask for it by name when you first call. For my RV, I know I need a "Medium Duty Wrecker". If I don't say that upfront, AAA and GS will both attempt to "guess" at the size truck needed. And then I end up waiting for the next type truck to appear...
