I agree with md2lgyk, extended warranties are a waste of money.
Now, for those that have had claims paid by their warranty, they are the best salespeople the companies have, just like jackpot winners in casinos. Remember that besides paying for claims, the warranty company has to also pay the employees, the sales commissions, and make a profit. Santa Claus doesn't pay those people.
If you are concerned with unforeseen expenses, then bank an "X" amount into a savings account to cover those expenses. The "X" amount should be about the same as the premium for the policy.
