Slow....

Two and a half hours does seem like a long time for a simple tire change. One could understand it if you needed a special tire brought along or something, but since you had your own spare it seems like someone could have been found and dispatched quicker than that. Do let us know what the outcome/explanation turns out to be!

That is correct, Bob. Context is everything, right? Grammar check can't tell the difference in that department, so when both are technically "correct" in form, one's own grasp of the language must take up that slack. Easy to understand the difference in this case by emphasizing key words in the phrase:

"Your spelling and grammar needs work" is clearly not what was intended.

"Your spelling and grammar need work" is correct, at least grammatically; though perhaps not according to Forum rules against insulting language.

I would suspect that both phrases are "technically" correct. The English language is such a fickle entity.

You are the one that needs help in comprehending. The vehicle was not setting on the side of the road with a blowout. It was in a Parking Garage and had gone flat setting still. I was just giving advise of how to continue without depending on a ERS that did not preform as requested. As I understand, most of the posters had rather pay money to a ERS service that does not respond and complain about it than take a little advise. I will not be back to respond further. Good riddance.

I for one would not be comfortable using a can of fix a flat on my RV.

1. I don't know enough about tire damage to know if it was appropriate to use it or not for a given instance;

2. I don't think fix a flat was necessarily created to plug a leak under the weight pressure of an RV versus a sedan, and I would worry that it wouldn't hold up under the weight until I made it to the tire shop - instead leaving me stranded on the side of a road instead of in my driveway or work parking lot;

3. I have dually rear tires and don't have the extended tubes. That means I have a good chance of not being able to reach the flat without removing a tire and I'd rather pay someone to do that, then do it myself.

It's really not difficult to understand that people have different comfort levels when it comes to DIY repairs/fixes. There are many things I will do myself (including replacing a gas wall heater), but other things, I'd rather pay not to do them. Laziness and/or a desire to complain don't really have anything to do with it.

FYI -- I was told that I should NOT use fix-a-flat with Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS). Something about gumming up the sensors. I have a little 12v compressor in my emergency kit in the trunk. However, since the tire went flat between lunch and leaving work for the day, I assumed the leak/puncture was large enough that trying to temporarily air it up long enough to get to a service center was senseless. Indeed, it turned out later that a non-trivial piece of metal had embedded itself in the tire and the success of a repair was questionable. I ended up with a new set of tires (the old ones had 45k on them anyway).

I've been a repeat customer of GSRS for 14 years straight now. I've had to use them three times now. The first was a locksmith for a accidental lockout. I rate GSRS in that case as fair because the locksmith charged me a fortune "under-the-table". The second time was a series of two blowouts on the same day. GSRS was fantastic and saved my bacon on that day. I pay for my premium service because GSRS claims that they will come help even for inconveniences like a flat tire. On bigger jobs like major blowouts on a dual real wheel motorhome, they are great. They fall down on the job on small inconveniences like lock-outs and flat tires.

Maybe I should keep GSRS for major problems and get AAA for minor inconveniences...

I usually just ask the hottest woman I know to just stand next to the car. Changed within 5 minutes.

Being disabled and not able to change a tire any longer do you have an alternative?

If you read my post you will see the alternative. No where did I mention chan ging a tire. What the he**. Do as you wish. :S

A fix a flat and a compressor is not ALWAYS a viable alternative. Guess in your perfectness, you never heard of a blow out. Hope you never have one.

You also spelled "changing", and "conveniences" wrong Mr. Perfect executive.

I will, however, take your advice and "do as I wish," with or without your input.
