Good Sam Roadside does offer specials from time to time for new members, "gift" memberships, and also different levels of membership that have different prices.

SO the OP does not like the price.
There are ways to get a lower price and rightlaneonly has described one.

I recently did not renew my GSRA because of that. Wanted 112.95 to renew and would not budge. Then when it was about to lapse they offered me 79.95. Too late, I quit.

We did the round robin "new customer" thing with GS and Coach Net, then back to GS, found out AAA offers RV road service in my area and went with them last year. This year I went into the office near me and explained what I wanted the "New Customer"deal.
Now with that being said, I paid $119 for premium plus RV and NEVER used it last year so the nice lady said "well thats our price for every one,, same price this year. I said "ok" then she said "because you are a returning customer I can give you the New customer gift", I got a travel pack and water bottle and other small roadside things.. Not a big thing but a little way to show customer appreciation!! Thats what will keep me coming back to them!!

That is a standard business practice. Reduce costs for a time certain to attract new customers. After the introductory period, normal prices prevail. Understand that the new customer price is not the normal price, but greatly reduced. The balance is absorbed by the company and is called customer acquisition costs.

It is offensive to established customers and it is a risk that some established customers will be offended and lost because of that discounted price to new customers.

It does not seem right to offer a dynamite offer to NEW customers and existing customers get screwed over. But it happens in every business.

That is what we in the cable industry call a switch customer. As someone that has been in the cable tv industry for 11 years I cannot tell you how many times I have gone back and forth to the same house for a disconnect and then a reconnect. All so they can get the latest package deal.
