Called Good Sams due to flat tire...siting in truck with three kids and my 1 year old. An hour after phone call I'm still waiting for a return call with a plan if action from Good Sams. Is this normal?

AS Good Sam has no dedicated road service they have to find a facility near you willing to come provide the service for the price Good Sam is willing to pay. Sometimes it takes a while for them to find a company willing to work for the price that Good Sam offers.I would give them a call back

Based on my experience, absolutely not normal. You don't mention where you are, or where assistance must travel from. I do know that when I called the first question is: are you safe in a safe place. With a one year old you should be able to accurately say that you are not in a safe location for the child. Hope all ends well, if not satisfactory.

From what I read on here an hour to several hours is common.Keep calling them back, don't let them "forget" about you.

First time I called GSRA they took so long that the state police called in their town tow service to change the flat. Had GSRA on the phone when the LEO made they call and to their credit they paid for it.Second time it was under a hour, but honestly in densely populated northern NJ it should have been under 15 minutes. The driver came from almost 30 minutes away. Ridiculous! BUT they didn't tell him what truck I have - a CCLB diesel and he didn't bring a heavy enough flatbed. Hit road debris and had TWO flats. Got the spare and he was able to plug the other tire enough for me to get to new tires.So except for the LONG delays the service was great. BUT I do have HIGH service level expectations – things happen fast in my industry and waiting isn't a option.

It took way too long talking to GS explaining where I was (I even gave GPS coordinates). Each time they sent someone that was 30-60 miles away. One time they told me it would be 1.5 hours, and someone showed up in 20 minutes. I had left the truck to get something to eat, since it would be over an hour. I had to cancel my lunch order when they called saying they were ate the truck. I sent an EMail to GS twice, complaining about the response, especially since I was in heavily populated areas. Never a response. Not too happy with their service, but I have not had great experience with any service provider (AAA or coachnet), AAA seemed to be the best of the three.

Why take the time to post on the forum? Why not call them back to ask if they found someone?

It's normal to wait for the service, but the call usually comes quicker. It all depends on how long it takes to find an appropriate service center.
