It's my opinion that those of us that have had good results with Good Sam Roadside Assistance tend not to post.

On the other hand, those with grips and bad service do post.

I have Good Sam Roadside Assistance and have used them twice. Both satisfactory.

I agree rv2go even the ones that has never had it.

Correct. IMHO this can be expended to all Camping World Activities. we only hear about the one or two percent, overall, that are unhappy.

You can go on line to your GS account and opt out of mailings.
AAA doesn't cover RV's in all places.

Do a google search on AAA rv service.

AAA good for up to a 100 mile tow.
GS to a shop no matter the distance.

That $25 card also gets you a discount at Pilot/Flying J.

I have used it about 3 or 4 times over the years, never had a problem!

We had AAA for over 30 years and finally switched to GS when AAA said they might tow our truck with the truck camper but would not tow our boat and trailer if we broke down. They also stated that their policies on towing varied depending on what state you are in when you need service. We didn't want to take the risk of being in a state where the service might not meet our needs.

As for GS road assistance we have only used it once when we came out of a restaurant one night and found we had a flat tire on my wife's SUV. They responded quickly, changed the tire and put the flat tire in the back of the SUV.

Good point Triker23 but what good if they say they can't get a tow truck like the one post I saw?

Well to be fair open another sub forum for other insurance. I made a note that AAA came through when good Sam's fell short. Okay so Good Sam's should encourage people to post when they exceed the members expectations. Like sending them a voucher. But only on a random to keep people from posting false stuff. Or have a yearly drawing From that forum.

I think as with most things in life, there are good and bad things about each.

For me, I think AAA is better when close to home. I can have them tow my RV to my preferred location rather than to the closest shop. This means I don't have to wait for GS to find a shop willing to take me (which can be a problem on a Sunday before a Monday holiday). Instead, I can call AAA and say "tow me to my regular shop", knowing that they will fix my RV.

GS is better when out in new territory because they will find you a shop willing to fix your RV. You don't have to worry about finding a tow destination while you're sitting on the side of the road.

The weakest point with GS, in my opinion, are the phone operators. Seems to me that most of the problems are due to the operators: 1) not knowing or not confirming what services the customer has paid for (e.g., concierge service and what that provides); or 2) not communicating enough with the customer during a stressful time (e.g., leaving you sit for 2+ hours with no updates as to your situation). AAA operators have a much better handle as to what services you've paid for, and keep you informed as to their progress in a more timely manner.

In the end, for an extra $100 per year, I have both. Seems like cheap insurance to make sure I get safely off the road.
