Kinda long but here goes...
My 70 year old mother called us today in a panic, she had broken down in her car and didn't know what to do! She was blocking a busy lane in a wally world parking lot. We were 10 min away so off we went. By the time we arrived, a good Samaritan and his son did push her out of the line of traffic and into a parking place. After looking over the car we realized it was more serious than a dead battery.
Mom has been a long time Good Sam Member (us also) and we all have GSERS. Used the android app, and right away got a very helpful gentleman. I was going to mention his name here but for the life of me I can't remember it now. He had a little bit of a time locating us as he misunderstood the road name we were on. (noisy cell signal). Once he located us he set us right up with a tow company for a tow home. Home was closer than a service center (less than five miles). Received a text message confirming the info with the tow companies name, so I settled in for a wait. went into wally world to get something cold to drink, got mom's groceries in our car so wife can take her home and before they can crank up to leave here comes the tow truck. Amazingly fast!! Tow driver got her car on the flat bed and off we went. Whole ordeal from Mom calling to car in her driveway approx. 1 hr 15 min
Wife and I pay mom's ERS in case she was to have a problem while we were out of town, and this has made us feel that we can rely on mom being taken care of if we can't get to her.
