We were camping this weekend about 50 miles from home. Something happened to the brakes just a few miles from the camp ground. We were able to get to the campsite. I have geico roadside assistance but I also have 1 year free good sam assistance I told my son that I think I remember the salesman telling me that they would tow it to my home if less than 100 miles. So we called the number on the card and the agent said yes they would, we told him we were just checking for information purposes because we might not need it. Well it turned out we did not need the service by the time we were ready to leave 2 days later. When I got home I looked on their webpage to double check and it says they would pay to tow to nearest service center and If I wanted it towed somewhere else like home I would have had to pay the difference. Can anyone clear this up for me?

Sounds like if the nearest service center is say 25 miles away and your home is 50 then you would be responsible for the extra 25 miles.

GS word game......they will tow it to your home BUT it will cost you!!!! I gave up on them this year - nothing but double talk....

Any plan will tow you to the nearest facility willing and able to repair your vehicle regardless of the distance involved. The Platinum Plus plan adds the option of towing you to any place of your choice within 100 miles. The warranty on your vehicle makes no difference to the benefit.

I am easy to confuse but, If Good Sam Roadside Assistance has no pre-set mileage or dollar limit, then the 100 mile discussion makes no sense! They will tow me 500 or a 1000 miles if that is to the nearest professional service center capable and willing to repair my vehicle. Now the real question; My RV is new, it is under warranty, what if the nearest garage capable of repairing my $100.000 RV, is not an authorized ford repair facility? Can you advise me with this?

I'm the original poster and I wanted to get back on and clear up things. Someone from Good Sam called me today to answer my question about service. I have the Platinum service and that will get me towed to the nearest repair service center no matter how far away but Platinum Plus would get me towed any where I would like for up to 100 hundred miles. The representative fom Good Sam said that since I was given miss information when I called from the campground by one of their people that he would upgrade me free of charge to the Platinum plus. I was very pleased with their handling of this matter especially since it didn't cost me anything because I didn't need the service after all, after the brakes cooled down (while camping)we drove the Rv home with no problems. My son has since the fixed the problems with the brakes. I was just empressed that they called to clear up the question and then to upgrade me for free. This is a company that I would like to do business with. Thanks Good Sam for your attention to customer service.

Pretty standard language for most tow services of various insurance companies. Towing to the nearest professional repair facility. If where you want it towed is further away, you pay for the extra mileage. No big secret or underhanded stuff - it's pretty clear wording.

I read that if repair facility is 10 miles away and home is 90 you're going to pay for the extra 80 miles.
If I am wrong Tinyonerv and Weathershank please show us where it says different. GS is not going to come back to this thread and clarify the answer to the OPs question. We are pretty much on our own.
