I worked for a used car dealer, they sold a brand name extended warranty. Kickback of $300 for each one sold. Good money for doing nothing.
When an a/c compressor failed, they covered the casual part only, no fluids(freon), no recharge cost, minus the deductable.
And then had the nerve to send a used compressor from a wrecking yard.
I guess bottom line is like everyone is saying.....caveat emptor.
