I think you're missing my point. When someone receives information about joining "good sam" they are receiving information regarding the CW discounts, GSRA, etc.
I fully get that GS is a club, but their advertisement scheme is to promote the business side of GS. If the only way someone, a member or not, can find out about rallies, etc., is to seek out information online - and yet they receive mailings from GS club on a regular basis advertising their business, then you can't say that the problem is with members having unrealistic expectations regarding the club.
A true club advertises its events, volunteer work, etc., not just its connection to a money making enterprise.
