- BFL13Explorer IIIf you don't overcharge them so they "vent", AGM batteries can be used "inside". (Always with that risk of course) That provides more options for location and besides keeps them warm where they don't lose so much capacity as batteries do outside, AGMs or not.
Our 1991 Class C (photo in Profile) came with a battery box to the outside that is under a dinette seat inside. That box is just right for an 8D battery. I could get two 27s in there but had to cut away part of the outside doorway to get in two 6s for height. After a while I ended up with an AGM 250AH 8D in there in parallel with two 100 AH AGM 27s under the kitchen counter next to the dinette so the parallel wire runs are short.
So we have a 450 AH battery bank, all AGMs, inside where it stays warm.
Be creative! - LwiddisExplorer IINothing wrong with a backup plan in case one 6 volt battery fails, Bob.
- bobndotExplorer III have room for 2 grp 27's under my step , that's what im using now.
Next time around I might try 2 6v's because I run my tv and inverter off a separate 12v agm grp 31. Doing it that way prevents my inverter low voltage alarm from sounding. :E
It also offers me a good 12v battery source in case (I know its rare) one of the 6v batts take a nose dive in the middle of nowhere.
For those that need more battery bank and do not have the room maybe a Torklift under vehicle battery mount would work for you.

2 6v GC2's.
Best bang for the buck ! - DrewEExplorer III had to make some modifications to my understep battery holder to fit the height of two GC2 batteries. I think it was worth the effort.
If that's completely impractical for your setup, 2x group 24's would give more battery capacity than a single group 27. As you apparently do a good bit of dry camping, that would be the better choice of the options you list. - LwiddisExplorer II"I'm pre-wired for solar and will probably add a panel to help out."
"Prewiring" is a joke much of the time...with 10 and 12 guage wire. A proper solar system doesn't "help out" most days. It fully recharges your batteries. Me believes you need to do some reading about RV electrial before buying anything...batteries, panels, controler etc.
For instance I doubt any 27 will have as many amp hours as two 24s. - LwiddisExplorer IIDo an energy survey if you dry camp/bookdock. Then pick a battery or batteries with at least twice the amp hours of survey amount. Three times is better.
BUT if you always plug in when camping (yuck) one 24 should do you. - SidecarFlipExplorer III2 Group 24 flooded cells. Had to fab up an appropriate battery box. I actually now have room for 2 31's but having a 24 predicated another one.

Depends, my older ('07) Forester has NO room for 2 6's, barely enough room to go from 2 27's to 2 29's.
I'd be really surprised if dual 6's won't fit in a 2019 motorhome. They are pretty much the standard.
But given the choices you list, I'd go with the dual 24's. - chistosoExplorerThanks. I'll look further into it. I'm pre-wired for solar and will probably add a panel to help out.
