03 Fleetwood Revolution 350 Cummins

I had the oil & filter changed recently. After the service was completed. I noticed that the Oil pressure gauge was not working. After much searching (Camping World) regarding the PCM line and the gauge itself. I am now being informed that it was some type of "switch".

Does this make sense?

The oil pressure gauge was working correctly prior to the oil&filter service.
  • Oil level and pressure are good.

    My main question is:

Is it just coincidence that the oil pressure switch goes out after they change
    the oil & filter ?
  • The switch part may make sense...
On 03 Dodge w/5.9 Cummins the oil pressure gauge is powered by a simple low pressure switch (6 psi) on the engine. So the "gauge" is really just a show the ECM puts on for your benefit and has no relation to what the oil pressure really is. As long as there's pressure, the "show" goes on.
Maybe you ISC is the same.
  • If I know camping world they probably put 5 quarts in a 19 quart engine or something stupid like that. I would check the oil level immediatly and look for wire maybe got knocked off of sending unit.
  • I would not drive or run it until you know it has oil pressure!
    Have you checked the dipstick?
  • Are you sure you have oil pressure?
Maybe a wire off the oil pressure sending unit.
