I finally pulled the trigger!Will be upgrading from my trusty old 93 Pace to a "slightly" newer 07 Discovery 39V! Going to be a MAJOR upgrade on my end. BIG upgrades will be the full slide, Air Brakes, Air bags and finally the 320HP Cat (had a 250HP Mechanical Cummins)As you can see, a BIG step up for me. Will be flying south Friday to take delivery.Would like to hear from other 07 Discovery owners on ANY tips on such a coach .Also, This pristine coach only has 20K miles. Looks like it has been garaged since new.BIG QUESTION:Have the option to do a 2, 3 or 4 year Extended protection plan3,700.00 2yrs or 24K miles4,197.00 3yrs or 36K miles4,672.00 4yrs or 48K milesMy prior Fleetwood PADP had ZERO issue with the Fridge\HWH\furnaces and such. I believe this to be due to all the maintaining I did on it. Not sure if I should spring for the additional coverage (RVCARE)Ideas, thoughts?Looks like I'll be swapping out my picture soon! Congratulations on the new coach! Very exciting. In my view, I would skip the extended warranty, primarily because the list of exclusions will be long. You're better off putting your premium aside and using it on repairs. Bet you have some left over.Hope you have a safe trip home.

Thanks for the Extened Warranty Post. Pretty much my thoughts on the subject. Looking forward to more posts on this subject! I'm a hands-on type. Do 95% of my own repairs BUT I'm gettin up their in age & will need to "slow down" on the DIY side of it.I feel VERY fortunate to have had good experiences with my 93 Pace Arrow. That mechanical 8.3 Cummins with the Allison 3060 World transmission was a PERFECT match!Going to be REAL hard letting go of the 93! Been a real sweet coach for those coast 2 coast runs! I have done 2 in her & had a blast!

Nay on the extended warranty, esp if you are a DIY type. Check and tighten the terminals on the transfer switch terminals yearly, they loosen up, should be under the bed. I had mine for almost 6 years and the only problems were the transfer switch ($200 diy), 1 slide motor ($1000, shop) and 2 leveling jack motors ($267/ea diy)

So far, so good. Looks like I'll have to replace a seal on the right front axle. Other than that she's running like a sewing machine!

My 5th RV ,I do all repairs so never buy extended warranty . But I do purchase the GOOD SAM"S Roadside assistance. Towing is expensive, once was 700 dollars. Told friend the same he said his auto insurance covered so he did not purchase it. Got towed for 900 dollars and his insurance only paid 100 dollars , he WAS PISSED.THEN he purchased Good Sam LOL

On mine there was a shaft that was shattered in the motor assembly on both rear jacks, happened within months of each other.

Congratulations! I went from a Pace Arrow to my Excursion, know the great feeling that comes with the move. I've had a GS ESP policy since I bought my Excursion nine years ago, and still keep it when a renewal is offered. The dealers price is very high, call good Sam and get a quote. It's a personal choice. Never had a covered claim denied.

I might mention that on the chassis all 4 clamps on the radiator hoses failed within a month.Get them checked!

We have the same coach and had problems with the electronic jacks,they have an upgrade seal kit which helps but have learned that cycling them at least every 30 days solved a lot of problems. I am amazed how rv mechanic's like to replace the jack motor when the problem is just a corroded jack brake.Also there was a recall on the battery cables that could rub threw where they leave the compartment. Congrats! We did the same last year went from a 1990 gas A to newer DP with 1 slide,
LOVE the slide, We went for an extended for 2 years, being a used coach with not alot of miles, we wanted assurances. Engine replacement cost 10 to 15 thousand, transmission a few thousand more, Until you know all systems are good, how much repair cost can you absorb.
I always pass on these warrantees, but with the kind of financial commitment that we signed on for we needed those assurances, so we got it. Paid 2200.00 with a 50.00 copay for 2 year and to date its alreagy paid for itself

i have an 07 excursion which is very similiar to the discovery. i have had it since new and the only real issue is with the electric levelers, i have the extended warranty and it has paid for three motors and a main controller. of course if you can replace all of those yourself, it probably wouldn't get to the cost of the warranty. for me the warranty was worth it. i have also had the altenator and an awning motor replaced under warranty.
