I'd e interested in knowing more about using a ratchet to move the slide. Same option on living room slide?
This works on a 2005 Fleetwood Excursion or Discover 39S. I'll assume it works on a few of their other MHs a couple of years either side. Basically raise the bed as high as you can. Then under the head of the bed, where the motor is, you'll see a large bolt head. It's about a 3/4" or 7/8". Put a 1/2" drive ratchet on it and it will crank the bedroom slide in or out depending which way you turn it. Since the slide is small, it doesn't take a lot of effort. One of these days I need to check the other two slides to see if they have the same mechanism.
I can't give you the exact socket size because the MH is a long way from here. If I can find the pictures I took, I'll try t post them in a day or two.
When the fuse blew on me, it did like one of the other posters stated - it blew as soon as we pushed the slide switch. Being that they use a slow-blow fuse, I would have expected the slide to retract somewhat while the fuse was heating up. After retracting the slide by hand, we hunted all over the Tucson area for some of the slow-blow fuses and couldn't find any. Put a standard fuse in it which worked fine and bought some slow-blow fuses from Amazon that were waiting for us when we got home.
