1990 Holiday Rambler Crown Imperial 37

Does anyone own this same model? They are hard to find so I am wondering why? Any advice on this RV would be greatly appreciated. Or does anyone know about this particular make and model.

Thank you,

Heather

    Thank you,

Keep in mind these coaches are 25 yrs. old so a lot of them are dead. A couple of guys had them that are in my RV club. Nice coaches. Anything that was produced, used, aged, moved onto the junk yard.

    Safe travels,
    MM.
  • . . . But they aren't all dead. Some of them are still around although they do require life support. Any coach does no matter how young or old. HR's are elegant, well-made coaches and even one that's 25 years old can still give good service.

  • Hi,

Have you tried looking at RvSearch.com You might be able to locate one for sale, or at least one near that year, or something.

Holiday Rambler was a higher line priced coach back in the 90's. They should last a long time. However it probably does not have port fuel injection. It might have fuel injection, and share parts with the same model year 3500 pickup. For my 97 Bounder, I share fuel injector parts with a 96 F-350 of the same engine size 460", and transmission filter as the 4X4 96 F-350 dually. It shares 10 lug tires with the 96-97 F-450 pickup, and brake pads.

Other things like windshield washer reservoir are buy a aftermarket universal fit, and use that instead of what came with the RV.

If you happen to need a new water tank, try this place. Tank-Depot.com

You might also be able to contact the Holiday Rambler factory, and ask about things like electrical diagrams, and how to remove something like the grey or black water tanks without disassembling to much of the RV. . .

    Good luck with your RV!

    Fred.
  • I've never owned one so, I can't give you any advice on that model.

However, if you decide to buy, check the age of the tires. RV tires usually age out before they wear out.

I like the older RV's, they have class.
  • Thank you for all the info. And Fred, that is the problem, I can't find the factory for the Holiday Rambler. I found the website for HR but they only go back as far as 2001. There was a pop up for another company but again nothing on the HR Crown Imperial model. I did however find this on NADA: 1990 Holiday Rambler Crown Imperial Series M-37CBXS . So frustrated!!!
  • HR was part of the Monaco group. They went belly-up in 2009:

And later they went into Chapter 7 bankruptcy:

Which might explain why you can't find information on older models.
Just happened to know it because I was looking for some info on McKenzie TH, also part of the former Monaco group.
  • What are you trying to accomplish? Buy one, find one, or do you have one?
My 97 HR 35 was a nice coach but the gas chassis back then were over loaded.
Brakes were inadequate, handling in the wind or on bad roads was bad and the long rear overhang made for weird handling. I would go for something much newer for not much more money.
  • I bought one off of Ebay. I paid a deposit and we were going to drive to pick it up. After talking to everyone on here, I dug a little deeper. I ran a background check on Been Verified on the seller. How ironic but I found the exact name, correct address but this guy is listed as 80 and "deceased!" I emailed the alleged owner to get an explanation and no response yet. I do know he advised me he was going to Chicago this weekend. In the meantime, I used Facebook to see if the name popped up. It did, correct address, city and state but belongs to a 45 year old woman. Alive and well.

I may be naive but I am not stupid and very resourceful. My red flags are up and my gut and the opinion of all of you have (1) put me on guard and (2) are not about to throw money out the window and be scammed. I am highly disappointed and sadden about this. I also believe the right one will come along at the right time. I am glad you all helped open my eyes and look at each corner of the big picture.

    Thank you!!!!!! Heather
