1996 Winnebago Relay

I am having a hard time finding how to start a new topic.
I'll see if this works.
October 15, 2020 while traveling US 129 (I think) suddenly smoke boiled out from my 1996 Winnebago Adventurer P30 chassis (Chevrolet) dash. I pulled to the side of the road quickly and raised the dash (instrument panel) to see heavy smoke coming from the relays and wiring. Then it happened. An explosion, luckily I had closed the dash.
After an hour, I was on the road again.
Looking into the wiring from the top underneath the dash there are 2 relays and a bigger flat plug. The left relay burned to ash and burned a hole in the right one.
Can someone please get me a number for the relay on the left since mine is burned up?
Thank you for the help.
  • 1995 Brave, I went to the website. But I can't determine a relay.
    Thanks for the try.
  • K Charles was making reference to the date, October 15, 2020.
The step should have two power sources. One motor power and one control, both normally fed from the 12 volt battery control center. Some rigs have a switch on the dash or by the door to override the operation.
The same relay is used for other functions, but is the same configuration. I would go through all aspects of your chassis operation. It is possible even though it is melted it could still be working.
  • enblethen, yes it does. However my instruments work. The only thing I have noticed not working are the steps. They extended and haven't moved any more.

K Charles,I have no idea what you mean.
  • Not many people time travel so most won't see your post for 5 years
