It is not a foam prefilter. Where can you buy the metal filter? - RiverrattralphExplorer

Bill - RiverrattralphExplorerMy top picture is the inner filter which is a metal type screen and the second picture is the normal paper typed filter that goes around the outside of the metal one

No it is not. look at it closely. The outer filter is the usually throw away filter but there is the inner one that is made of a metal screen type material that seams to be fastened to the housing and not removable - Born_To_TravelExplorerIt is a throw away paper filter... No the outer is replaceable the inner is permanent.
What is the purpose of the inner filter? I would think there should be a way to clean it.
That is what the op is asking HOW do you clean the thing.
My rig has one that I just blow out with an air gun. But I wanted to see if others had a better answer because I do not know the correct procedure either. The inner on mine is NOT oily so it is not an oil bath unit in my opinion but I do not know the correct answer - RiverrattralphExplorer
