Just to let the OP know about our experience buying a older Class C. We bought a 1999 Shasta Sprite in mint condition last year with 19,000 miles from original owner. Paid $15,000. Had it inspected by a rv tech with 40 years experience and he rated it a A plus. As preventive maintenance, we had the roof resealed that cost us $900. parts/labor. We are just now going to put on new tires that will cost $800-$1000. This rv is on the Ford E350 chassis, has the V10 which runs perfectly. We have been out many weekends with it and everything works perfectly: fridge, top a/c, heater, stove, lights, electrical, gauges for propane, water, battery level, etc. I found another 2000 Class C for a couple who was looking and they spent less than $1000. for small fixes and new tires and so far have put on 24,000 miles and happy they saved $20,000 over a newer model. With careful shopping and inspection one can end up with a excellent coach and save thousands in the process. These mint coaches are out there..seek and you will find!
