Your slides are mechanical gear drive by electric motors. They MAY have interior locks to keep them closed tight when the coach is in motion.
To operate them manually requires you to access the motors from the basement compartment, and using a 3/4" ratchet wrench on each motor, slowly retract them. There is also a brake lever on each motor that must be flipped to allow you to manually retract them. It is a tedious process because you have to move from motor to motor to insure that the slide is retracting straight.
Make sure there are no obstructions, inside or out, when you operate your slides. Lubricate the rubber seals and make sure you have grease on the gears and you should have no problems. They also will operate better if the batteries are fully charged.
