2004 Newmar Kountry Star Problem

I am on a trip and my check eng light came on and a few seconds later red stop eng light with audible warning. It comes on whenever I come to a grade and need extra power, as soon as I let off on the throttle check eng light goes out and then a short time later stop eng light goes out. When it first happened about 600 miles back I changed both fuel filters ( in line & spin on ) but this did not seem to help. I have done the 600 miles by just living with the light and buzzer whenever I come to a grade. Any suggestions besides taking it to Freightliner? 300 cummins eng.

    .....roblem?....................just back from road test, problem solved, cannot believ it took me 800 miles of off & on lights & buzzers to find out I was a gal. low on coolant!.............

    LOL!! Didn't write them all down.

    And yes, the ISM is another offering from Cummins!

    I had never heard of the ISG and ISV until I looked on their site.

    I would also check to ensure your turbo is tight. There are four bolts holding it on. Use a flashlight and look for soot around the connections....Dennis

    MM...what about the ISM...????? (feeling neglected) ..:B....D

    Good suggestion. The '04 Kountry Star is indeed a rear radiator.

    C-doug, it's referring to the engine size.

    ISB-6.7 liter
    ISC-8.3 liter
    ISL9
    ISV5
    ISG11
    ISG12
    ISX12
    ISX15

    There are a lot of Cummins engine sizes.

    Do you have a rear radiator?...it might be clogged up....does the temp gauge go up?....rear radiators require cleaning from time to time.

    I for inline, the rest is for release of the new IS (Interact System which allows for interaction of various non-engine components from ECM)version they simply picked up the letter from the series i.e. B became ISB, C became ISC.
