2005 Seneca slideout

My 2005 seneca driver side slideout is haflway out. The rear part of the slide will not move, but the front half will go in and out. I previously had trouble with the fuse for that slide blowing in the control module. Any thoughts? Are there separate motors for front and back of slide? All help is appreciated.

Thank you for the input. I crawled up inside the baseent, and just where the square bar drive meets the motor, a bolt had fallen out that linked the round driveshaft to the square bar. All is fixed, and that is the cheapest repair I have ever made on the RV!

    Glad you got it fixed.

  • As said previously there is only one drive motor. If the drive line is intact, no sheared pins, check the the drive gear on the rack end that is not moving. These are weak and can shatter if overloaded. Also to realign the slide there is a clutch disengagement lever on the motor so that you can manually move the slide with some effort to a reasonable proximity fore and aft. Hopefully something as simple as a shear pin.
If it is a shear pin, check for an obstruction.

There is only one motor for the slide. If the back is not moving than there is either something blocking it or a sheer pin has failed.
Look in the bay under the slid and see it the shaft to the rear roller is moving , if so than something is blocking the slide out from moving.

If the shaft is not moving and front part is than one of the sheer pins has failed.

If a sheer pin has failed you need to figure out why the pressure to move the slide was so great as to sheer the pin.

  • Hi,

If I understand it right, the rear part is either in or part way out, and the front half is not in line with the rear half. THis can damage the slide out, so I would bring the front in line with the rear half as soon as possible. This will help revent the slide from bending.

THen I would check the fuses or perhaps there is a circuit breaker that controls the motors. Fix that next, so both motors will run at the same time.

If the slide is out, and you need to move the RV, then there should be a manual crank that you can use to override the motor.
